Now that winter is upon us, we need to be prepared for the snow and ice. Here are a few tips that will aid in your safety, the driver’s safety and maintain the level of service you have become accustom to expect.
* Never dispose any hot material in the dumpster, ash, charcoal etc. even if it appears cooled. Once that material is dumped into the truck the whole truck will catch on fire putting your driver in grave danger.
*Keep the container clear of snow and ice. It is the responsibility of the customer to keep the container accessible for service. This includes the area in front of, sides and rear of the container, including the side pockets of front load containers or the connection hook & back door of roll off containers. If you are unable to do so kindly contact the main office to reschedule your service to avoid any dead run fees.
* Keep all access areas and access roads clear of snow and ice, heavily sanding and salting when necessary. Completely clear access, down to pavement, is required to guarantee you receive your scheduled service. If you are unable to do so kindly contact the main office to reschedule your service to avoid any dead run fees.
*Be sure to check our website for scheduling changes due to inclement weather and holidays. Updates are posted right on the home page, www.ajletour.com, otherwise information can be found under the "Holiday" page.
While our drivers are experienced, operating such a large piece of equipment is difficult in inclement weather. It is a common misconception that because the trucks are so large they must handle better in the snow and ice. In actuality, the truck’s size works against itself. It’s ability to maneuver in snow and ice is harder than normal size vehicles, so they do require more area free of snow and ice.
We wish you all Safe and Happy Holidays,
The AJ Letourneau Family
